| 1. Periodically check cables on all length, damage, cracking or a burn-out of isolation of cables, and also corrosion are not allowed. Unreliable connection of the battery can be a cause of failures at start-up of the engine, and also deterioration of operational qualities of the engine. |
| 2. Check a condition of connections of poles with plugs, existence on them of corrosion, cracks and weakening of fastening of wires. Existence of the white shelled raid under isolation in a place of the plug testifies to corrosion of conductors of a cable and need of its replacement. Check existence of corrosion and deformations on plugs and a condition of bolts of fastening. |
3. At removal of cables always disconnect the battery from weight first of all, and connect to weight at the latest moment, in order to avoid a zakorachivaniye of poles of the battery the tool by which plugs are tightened. If it is necessary to replace only a cable of a positive pole, at first disconnect a cable from a negative pole. |

Replacement
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Disconnect old cables from the battery, track laying of cables on their length and find places of their fastening to a starter and to weight, disconnect cables from the traction relay of a starter and weight. Remember a route along which the cable is laid to lay a new cable to the place of being in operation. |
| 2. If cables are replaced new, getting new cables, take with yourself old. It is the extremely important that new cables in accuracy corresponded to the old. It is easy to distinguish a cable of a positive pole from a cable negative, – isolation of a cable of a positive pole of usually red color, these cables have bigger cross section, the accumulator plug differs in big diameter. Isolation of a cable of connection with the mass of black color, cross section and diameter of the plug is less, than at a cable of a positive pole of the battery. |
| 3. Clear carvings of fastening of cables of the battery on the traction relay of a starter and on a body, remove corrosion traces. |
Prevention
For protection from corrosion grease carvings with technical vaseline or special protective structure for accumulator plugs.

| 4. Attach a cable to the traction relay of a starter or to weight, reliably tighten nuts and bolts of fastening.
|
| 5. Before accession to the battery of a new cable, be convinced that the cable has sufficient length, and will be established without tension.

| 6. At first attach a cable to a positive pole of the battery, then to the negative. |
