GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of elements of system cruise control

1. Ignition lock
2. Switch of system cruise control
3. Block of safety locks of N1 (safety lock of the electronic control unit)
4. The switch on a coupling pedal
5. Switch of headlights of a stoplight
6. Elektoronny control unit
7. The switch on the emergency brake
8. Drive
9. Speed sensor
10. The switch blocking inclusion of a starter by the included transfer

The system cruise control (if it is established) supports the constant speed of the car by means of the electronic control unit (computer) installed in salon and the drive, located near the accumulator in a motive compartment. The drive is connected to the connecting mechanism of a butterfly valve by means of a rope or draft. Besides the drive, the system turns on the switch of brakes, the coupling switch, the operating switches, the relay or connecting wires.

Check of some of functions of this system requires use of the special equipment and carrying out special diagnostic operations which are inaccessible to the simple motorist.

Below cruise control which can help with detection of sources of malfunction is given the description of the general operations on check of system.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a safety lock (see subsection 12.1).
2. Ask the assistant to press a brake pedal, and check their work and work of system. Turning on of the switch of headlights of a stoplight and if it is established, the switch on a coupling pedal, deactivates system cruise control.
3. If headlights of a stoplight do not light up or will not go out, eliminate malfunction, and again check system cruise control. Check the switch for coupling pedals (see subsection 8.2.6).
4. Examine the vacuum hose (if is established) connected to the servo-driver and also check the connecting mechanism between the servo-driver of system cruise of control and a butterfly valve, and replace if it is necessary.
5. Systems cruise control use many various devices for determination of speed of the car. On these models the sensor of speed is located in a transmission. Turn off a bolt and get the sensor (see subsection 7.2.3), scroll its castor and check sensor signals by means of the digital voltmeter at its rotation. If resistance does not change at rotation of the sensor, it means is faulty.
6. Pass on the car for check of system cruise control. If it does not work, address to experts for further diagnostics and repair.
